What
the Peacechain Discs Represent
The individual discs are held together by the dove of peace in the centre.

The
inscription on the dove is in Esperanto, the universal language designed
by Lazarus Ludovik Zamenhof to allow all peoples to communicate with each other.
Ludovik grew up in a town in Poland which was divided between Poles, Jews, Russians and
Germans, all speaking different languages. From a young age Ludovik
became aware of all the bloody fighting and discrimination. As a
child, watching the fighting in the street below his window, he
thought that if only they could communicate with each other there
would be no need to fight. When he grew up, he designed the universal language Esperanto so that
all people could begin to communicate and connect with
each other.
He published his first book in1887 under the pseudonym of "Dr.
Esperanto" "Esper-ant-o" means "one who
hopes."

The
Buddha was chosen to represent all the different Buddhist paths.
The
inscription is
"Gzhi-bde",
and
the Tibetan peace symbol
ཞི་བདེ
I
chose the Tibetan language for the Buddhist symbol as the leader of the Tibetan
people, the Nobel peace prize winner HH the Dalai Lama is internationally
recognised as the embodiment of peace. Despite his country being invaded and
over a million Tibetans killed, imprisoned, tortured and starved since 1949 (17%
of the population - HH refers to his people as an endangered species) and their
culture and religious expression still subverted and banned in what can only be
described as cultural and religious genocide, he remains a powerful and
inspirational advocate of peaceful negotiation.

The
Tao, or yin/yang symbol means "the way" and represents the
wholeness, balance and harmony that is only achieved when opposing forces are in
equal balance. Taoism, like Confucianism, is both a religion and a philosophy,
so I chose this symbol to represent all peoples governed by political
philosophies, for example communism. It's inscription is the Chinese word" Hépíng" and the
Chinese and Japanese peace symbol
和平

The
Flower
of life symbol was chosen to represent all secular and individual spiritual
paths. The inscription is the Russian for Peace, "Mir" and the
symbol "Мúр"

The
Spiral represents all original religions and all indigenous peoples. The
inscription is the Aboriginal, Walpiri for peace, "Iawa-nyinami" (notice
that it also contains the Esperanto word for love, "ami"!)

On the top
the inscription is "Wolakota" which is Lakota for "peace." It
was to the Lakota nation that White Buffalo Woman appeared long ago, gifting
them the sacred pipe. "With
this holy pipe," she said, "you will walk like a living prayer. With
your feet resting upon the earth and the pipe stem reaching into the sky, your
body forms a living bridge between the Sacred Beneath and the Sacred Above.
Wakan Tanka smiles upon us, because now we are as one: earth, sky, all living
things, the two legged, the fourlegged, the winged ones, the trees, the
grasses. Together with the people, they are all related, one family. The pipe
holds them all together."
The Subtle
Effects of Wearing the Peacechain
The
inscriptions worn next to the skin also serve another purpose.
Dr. Masaru Emoto's brilliant and
original work researching the effects of different atmospheres on water crystals
is now becoming widely recognised. His first book, "Messages from
water" showed clearly the difference in water taken from varying sources,
i.e. Tokyo and London tap water showed very poor crystalline structure, while
the crystals that formed from pure springs and Lourdes water were elaborate and
beautiful.
In his third book, he cites some fascinating research which clearly
demonstrates the power of thought and words. In one experiment water from
the same source had the words "Love" and "Hate" written onto
tape on the bottles. When frozen and photographed, water from the
"Love" bottle showed beautiful crystal formation, while water from the
"hate" bottle had very murky, poor crystalline formation.
When we
consider that our bodies are composed mostly of water, it is easy to imagine the
harmonizing effect that the words and symbols for "Peace" and
"Love" written in 13 different languages, worn next to the skin will
have on us at a cellular & energetic level.
Dr. Emoto's work was demonstrated in the recently
released quantum physics docu-drama film, "What the Bleep do we Know."
